Osteology

An osteologist creaning a human skull with a toothbrush.

Osteology is the study of bones and includes detailed examinations of skeletons, teeth, and horns in both humans and animals.

Lödöse Museum offers all types of osteological analyses. The museum's osteologist has extensive experience working with both human remains, whether burned or unburned, and animal bones. Placing the osteological material in an archaeological context is highly prioritized. Therefore, we are happy to participate in the planning and/or fieldwork stages.

For inquiries about osteological assignments, please contact Astrid Lennblad.
