Lödöse museum is currently in an exciting phase, as we are producing a new permanent exhibition. To some extent this affects our range of public activities and guided tours from 1st september 2019 until the new exhibition opens in 2021. We apologise for any inconvenience, and hope to see you soon.

Several hundred years ago, Lödöse was the site of one of the first and largest medieval towns in Sweden. Archaeologists have uncovered more than half a million objects and the Medieval Lödöse exhibition presents a picture of what it might have been like to live in the town of Lödöse back in the Middle Ages.

Welcome to the Herb Garden at Lödöse Museum. Here we explain all about the medicinal properties of mediaeval herbs as well as the many myths and unusual facts surrounding the herbs. The Herb Garden is a true oasis for our senses and a place where inspiration abounds.
