Don't miss the chance to relax with a delightful coffee in our cozy café and explore the museum shop.

Museum shop

In our welcoming entrance you will find the museum's shop. We carry carefully selected goods of high quality. Our vision and aspiration is to, as far as possible, offer products that are fair and ecologically produced, for a sustainable future. The shop and café has the same opening hours as the museum.

The museum's shop has a wide range of products with a focus on the Middle Ages. Here you will find, among other things, historical jewelery, crafts, forging, glass and an exciting book selection.

Our vision is to continually expand the range of organic and / or fair trade products in our shop. Some of these products are our own profile jerseys and qualitative children's toys.

We are happy to work with local producers - do you think you have something we would like to sell in our store? Call 010-4414381 or email to anne-louise.nyman@vgregion.se

Food and drinks

Whatever the time of year, at Café Alfhild you can always enjoy a refreshing cup of coffee or tea and a sandwich or cake of your choice. If you feel like a light lunch, we are certain that our pies are just what you are looking for.

Organic and fair

The cafeteria is constantly expanding its range with the addition of organic and Fairtrade-labelled products. Our aim is to ensure a sustainable future. The cafeteria only sells organic and/or Fairtrade-labelled beverages.

The cafeteria follows the museum opening hours. If the weather is fine, it is possible to eat outdoors. If you would like to order lunch for groups of five or more, please call us on 010-441 43 81 to make a reservation.

Alfhild – A Medieval Florence Nightingale

Alfhild is the name of a woman who lived during the Middle Ages. According to an interpretation of a gravestone from the monastery church here in Lödöse, she was the wife of the Hospital Warden. It would not be entirely out of place to compare her to Florence Nightingale, a much-loved and important person who devoted her life to treating the sick and afflicted.

Accessability

Accessibility

Lödöse Museum has been adapted for disabled users, and there is ample free parking.

Sensory room

For our visitors with any kind of neuropsychiatric disability, we offer the possibility to spend time in our Sensory room at the museum. We realise that museums can be a difficult environment for many people, with its fluorescent lamps, noises, visitors and other things that might cause distress and uncomfort. Our sensory room has adapted information in form, texts, tactile surfaces and items. The room is designed not to overload vision, hearing, smell and so on. Ask at the reception if you wish to access our sensory room.
